Feist show
[info]illyriadeity and I met up for the Feist show at the Pantages last night. The opener Grizzly Bear played their weird songs first--including flute, authoharp, and falsetto parts--and then won me over with a version of "He Hit Me (and It Felt Like a Kiss)" and a really good song that started out with "I want you to know." (I'll figure out the title later.) One of the boys looked like Terry Hall and sang like cabaret Marc Almond. The songs where he sang lead were the best, although the band did lovely harmonies.

When I bought Feist's The Reminder and told the girl at the counter I was going to the show, she said, "Oh, she really gets into it live." That was no lie! Leslie Feist is about five feet tall, but she has a lot of energy and a voice that carries even without a microphone. She got the crowd to sing and even move around towards the end. She brought out a shy tap dancer for one song. Feist made "Mushaboom" pretty rockin' and got me to like "Sealion" live.

a really good song that started out with "I want you to know."

Was it, "I want you to know...about Burt Pugach"?!? ;)

I haven't been able to stop talking about that story---I think I've told it to my mom like 45 times now. It is so crazy (no pun intended!) that I cannot get it out of my head.

I think that one of them (or perhaps both of them) wrote a book---I must see if I can obtain a copy. We should have a Book Club, where we read all sorts of sordid stories.

You should join [info]celebritybooks 'cause they are always talking about somewhat sordid books there.

Yeah, I didn't even notice the other three boys in the band after I saw the Terry Hall boy. Then he sang....
